The Braidwood Old Sunday School Hall
from school to parish hall to community hall
a Braidwood icon

Built in the 1850s, the Hall, as one of  the town’s oldest public building, has been the venue for many Church and community functions over the years, and was the home of the Anglican Women for their meetings and catering. The Hall was listed for its heritage significance but needed major restoration. A community management committee was formed to apply for grants and community donations to restore the building for community use. The committee now manages the hall for the Anglican Church.

Once again in May 2023 the hall was opened with a celebration to welcome the community back into our much loved hall. With so many memories of past events the Braidwood community is enjoying coming back to the hall for family celebrations, reunions, wakes, meetings, music and dance classes, fashion and beauty sessions, pilates and yoga classes, catering and cooking classes in the new commercial kitchen. It is available for emergency gatherings during bushfires, floods or other disasters.
